Kit Expectations

On behalf of the Vegas Carts team, I would like to personally thank you for your investment in our engine swap kits.

We have been optimizing these kits since 2012 and are constantly innovating to improve them every day. If you have any suggestions, please respond to this email and let us know.

There are a few things that I have to address so you know what to expect and how our operation works:

MANUFACTURING LEAD-TIMES:

Lead times can vary significantly throughout the year. Our busy season is March through August, and you should expect a 1-2 week wait for shipping during that time period. At other times, we can usually ship kits within a few days. We manufacture most components in our Jacksonville, Florida metal shop. Some components, such as clutches and belts, come from vendors in other parts of the country/world and are subject to occasional delays during this timeframe.

If you need your kit faster than 1-2 weeks, we do offer expedited handling for a 20% surcharge. This places you at the top of the list and typically reduces the lead time to less than a week.

SHIPPING AND DELIVERY:

Once the kit has shipped, you will receive another email with tracking information. Delivery times can be 1-5 days, depending on your location. It is usually next day if you are in Florida, but 5 days if you are on the West Coast. Weather delays are a real possibility for certain parts of the country; this is something we all have to accept, as much as delays are annoying.

Carriers can occasionally be careless with their shipments, and we have seen a marked increase in shipments being delivered to the wrong address. If this happens to you, it is best to immediately go to your local hub and try to have the manager locate the delivery driver to trace the package. The longer you wait to do this, the greater the chance of a major delay in tracking down your package. We are limited in our ability to handle shipment issues, as we are only the shipper and cannot contact the driver or a local hub manager directly. As much as you may think it is best to contact us to resolve an issue, we have limited power remotely.

Please inspect your order when it is delivered! If you have received a package from us and it arrives damaged or seems to be missing parts, please send our team an email within 48 hours of receiving the package! Vegas Carts will not honor any claims made after the 48-hour period. Your conversion kit is insured and under warranty from the day you receive the package. It is crucial that we are notified of any damages or missing pieces upon arrival so we can work to correct the issue with the carrier. Please send pictures of your damaged item to info@vegascarts.com, along with a picture of the label and any box damage that may have occurred. We take pictures of all items before they are shipped! If you are missing something, please make sure you have opened every box and bag that came with your order. Nine times out of ten, parts are mistakenly thrown out with the trash because they were too lightweight or too small to notice, mixed in with the packing material. If you are still unable to find the missing pieces, email our team and they will take care of it for you.

NOISE:

Engine noise IS going to increase by a measurable amount. It will not be obnoxiously loud, but it will be louder than stock, and your friends will know you big-blocked your cart. It is simply not realistic to double the size of your engine and retain the same level of sound in such a small space. We have done everything in our power to develop mufflers that minimize noise, but we found that most of the noise is actually from the engine itself and not the exhaust.

CARB TUNING:

Most people are accustomed to fuel injection doing all the work for them, and they do not have to worry about tuning carburetors. While modern technology is amazing, none of the engines you will put into your cart are modern enough for it to be that simple. All engines will require fine-tuning of the jets and air bleeds inside the carburetor of whatever engine you choose to use. Harbor Freight engines are required to meet stringent emissions standards, so they do not run perfectly out of the box.

This is something you should study further to become comfortable with having a carburetor and learn how to dial it in for the best performance and drivability BEFORE installing your engine.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Most of our kits have instructions available for you to review well ahead of receiving your kit. This will prepare you for what is to come and allow you to arrange the necessary tooling. Click HERE to go directly to our instructions page.

DANGEROUS USE WARNING AND DISCLAIMER:

For most, it is common sense that modifying a golf cart to have 2-3x the power in a platform that only has rear brakes is going to be dangerous. For those who do not understand this concept, and to appease lawyers, we recommend you read our disclaimer here. Do not even think about blaming us for burning your cart to the ground or flipping it over backward; you knew the risks, and you have been warned!
